How would you describe your novels and target audience?

I write mainly novels with suspense, mystery or horror elements. I don’t stay within a specific genre; often my novels have a mix, including crime, romance or sci-fi.

  • Although Whale Song, my most recent novel, is not a hardcore mystery or suspense, it does have a light mystery element and a definite crime, yet its softer side is one of family drama and coming-of-age.
  • The River is a conspiracy thriller that encompasses a bit of sci-fi along with action, suspense and romance.
  • Divine Intervention is a paranormal romantic crime suspense, kind of a mix between Medium, Ghost Whisperer and CSI. I like to write novels that make people think or ask questions.

For Whale Song, my youngest fan that I know of is 7 and the oldest is 96. My target audience is women mainly between the ages of 30-65. I am happy to see that it also has a large YA (young adult) following, with boys and girls from 7-16. The River and Divine Intervention are geared for an adult audience, but then again, most 14 year olds and older are reading adult fiction. The River is my personal bestseller with men.
